MacKenzie VanWormer has spent much of her adult life advocating for children – in her work, in the community and, most importantly, in her home. The mother of four children, ages 6-13 is involved with her children’s’ schools, soccer teams and various community organizations. She moved to Prescott in her early teens and attended Prescott High School, where she met her husband Marc. They’ve been married over 16 years. MacKenzie is an alumnus of Arizona State University where she received a BS degree in Child Development and Family Studies and a Masters Degree in Social Work. She is a Licenses Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). MacKenzie has spent her career working with and for families through adoption and birth parent counseling, school counseling, and as an in-house therapist within the therapeutic foster homes, and as a facilitator to families in high-conflict custody situations.
Professional Dance Partner
Leo Gallegos began dancing at the age of 3 under the tutelage of his mother who along with his father owned a total of 9 dance studios during his youth. During this time he was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and modern. At the age of 16 he began teaching at his parent’s studios as well as guest teaching at many others. While attending the University of New Mexico and late University of Nevada Las Vegas he continued guest teaching in New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. In 2009 Leo opened Switch Performing Arts which has continually had a reputation for high quality, instruction, cutting edge faculty, and unique performances. He has choreographed for Bud Light during the “House of Whatever” 2015 Super Bowl promotional event with artists including Nicki, Minaj, Diplo, and Steve Aoki as well as for FOX TV Phoenix, the Arizona Sundogs Dance Team and more. Leo instructs at numerous studios around the valley and enjoys bringing his style of teaching to eager and hard working students.
